Leviticus 23:28 And ye shall do no work in that same day: for it is a day of atonement, to make an atonement for you before the Lord your God. 29 For whatsoever soul it be that shall not be afflicted in that same day, he shall be cut off from among his people.
The days in which we are now living is a time for deep soul-searching, where we examine ourselves closely in the light of God’s word; a time, when, like the Psalmist David, we are to ask God to search us and try us, to see if there be any wicked way in us, and if so, to lead us in those paths of righteousness outlined by God.
We are currently living in the closing scenes of the anti-typical day of atonement, when the names of all those who have professed Christ are being put into one of two books, the book of life or the book of death. With all of the ongoing issues to distract our attention from this all-important truth, we should never forget that it is occurring even as we speak.
Therefore, there are several are the reasons why many will be shaken out from among God’s remnant people, however, it is our hope and prayer that those needed reforms and changes in our habits and lifestyles would take place in co-partnership with God who stands ready to forgive us, to heal us, and to restore.
1st John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
