1st Thessalonians 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
During the time of trouble, all the stops will be pulled out, and the bare bones, and foundations of our faith will be exposed, and therefore, if we have been superficial in our relationship and walk with God, the time will soon come when all that folks have ever learned in Sabbath or Sunday school, or in Pathfinders, would leak out of our souls, just as if it were a dream.
Question: How is it that we can be attending church for many years, praying, singing together, reasoning from the scriptures from week to week, and yet not be grounded in Christ? How is it, that some could be expositors of the scriptures, and yet, when crunch time comes around, so many persons would join the ranks of the enemy?
There are several answers to these questions, which we will address one by one, with the hope that the sincere-hearted, as well as the light and frivolous would be aware of what God desires in His people. This is not the time for the minds of the remnant people of God to be engrossed in movies, money-making or in fashion-mongering.
1st John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
