Psalms 73:16 When I thought to know this, it was too painful for me; 17 Until I went into the sanctuary of God; then understood I their end.
So, before the you and me in the here and now, also lose our faith in God, let us search for the Scriptural answers to some of these perplexing questions. First and foremost, we must remember a few things about The Lord whom we serve, because as we seek answers, we must do so with a humble, teachable spirit, meaning that as we open the sacred word, we must come with the right attitude, so as to be able to understand that which is written.
[1] God is not only Sovereign Ruler in heaven, and upon the earth, but He is also the Sovereign Owner of everyone, and everything. [2] Whatsoever God does, or permits is always the right thing to do in the given circumstance. Even if we may beg to differ, God is always right, and what He does is always in the best interest of persons, and this includes destruction at times.
[3] God’s main purpose in sending Jesus to die for our sins is to save us from eternal death, and also to renew the image of God in all who so desire. God’s work is in the mind, where any real, lasting change must take place. There are other purposes which some folks may try to add on, such as social justice, equity, deliverance for anyone and everyone who is in distress who may seem to be worthy. While all of these purposes may be good in and of themselves, they are not the real reason why God sent Jesus into the world.
Deuteronomy 32:3 Because I will publish the name of the Lord: ascribe ye greatness unto our God. 4 He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.
