Expect A Blessing. Part [10] 03/18/2025 (Evening thought)

Mark 9: 21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do anything, have compassion on us, and help us.

[3] Limiting God, by restricting the Lord to finite methods, capabilities, ways, and means: Limiting the power of God in our minds, in any way shape or form, could inhibit our expectations of the blessing. All things are possible, to any person, who believes, and therefore, one’s capacity to receive is directly tied to his/her willingness to believe. Hence the reason why we should leave the door of faith open at all times because you can never know what God may choose to do in this or that situation.

If we limit God to only doing the obvious, based on human logic, and reasoning, we essentially box Him in, and restrict His power in our minds. Thus, the Christian should train his mind to think outside the box, while being cognizant of the realities, and facts on the ground.

The history of the Hebrews shows that they fell on this point over and over again, in their wanderings back and forth in the wilderness. The ten spies, the battle against the Philistines, and Goliath, crossing the Red Sea, their clamor for water when it seemed scarce, all of these experiences and more, were fraught with the tendency to limit God.

Mark 9:23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
