Numbers 15:15 One ordinance shall be both for you of the congregation, and also for the stranger that sojourneth with you, an ordinance for ever in your generations: as ye are, so shall the stranger be before the Lord. 16 One law and one manner shall be for you, and for the stranger that sojourneth with you.
God's Sabbath of rest (Saturday) is also meant for the gentiles who believe on Jesus, and even those who refuse to accept Him as Lord and Savior are included in the provision. The very fact that God blessed and sanctified the Sabbath day, means that its sacredness cannot be removed to another day, and furthermore it remains Holy, whether or not work is done during its sacred hours. This then leads us to rightly conclude that the seventh day Sabbath is applicable to Catholics, Baptists, Evangelicals, Muslims, Hindus, and Communists without any exception whatsoever. Let's read:
Isaiah 56:2 Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. 3 Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the Lord, speak, saying, The Lord hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. 6 Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the Lord, to serve him, and to love the name of the Lord, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; 7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.
God's Sabbath is obviously meant for all people and Christ did not institute any change concerning its observance as is evidenced by the following scriptures which recount the ongoing recognition of its binding claims upon all men. Let's read:
Acts 13:42 And when the Jews were gone out of the synagogue, the Gentiles besought that these words might be preached to them the next sabbath. 43 Now when the congregation was broken up, many of the Jews and religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas: who, speaking to them, persuaded them to continue in the grace of God. 44 And the next sabbath day came almost the whole city together to hear the word of God.
When the Bible states that they returned the "Next Sabbath" it means that all in attendance understood perfectly that the Sabbath was still in force and therefore, no one needed to be reminded to "Remember the Sabbath day". This was no arbitrary appointment on the part of the people, for even the gentiles who had not the law, understood that the only sacred day of worship is the Sabbath (Saturday).
All Christians everywhere are hoping to make it to heaven, and even many of those belonging to other religions expect, and desire to pass through the pearly gates. This is all well and good, but the Lord will have us consider that the prerequisites for entrance are the same, for God never changes. Man was removed from the garden of Eden because of a violation of God's law, and if we intend to be re-admitted, the keeping of God's law, including the Sabbath, will form an integral part of our covenant with God, especially in these days in which abundant light has been shed on our pathway concerning its sacredness. Let's read:
Isaiah 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain. 23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.
And since practice makes perfect, the Lord is saying that we need to be obedient down here if we intend to be obedient up there. We therefore end with a passage of scripture that reminds us of the validity of the ten commandments, including the Sabbath, and we also encourage everyone to start "Practicing" in order to make "Perfect". Let's read:
Deuteronomy 7:9 Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations; 11 Thou shalt therefore keep the commandments, and the statutes, and the judgments, which I command thee this day, to do them.
We sincerely hope and pray that there will be revival and reformation pertaining to this important issue, for the destiny of millions will be determined by these present truths. "Good night" and God bless!
