A Promise For Answered Prayer. 04/13/2014 (Morning thought)

Isaiah 65:24 And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

This passage of scripture represents one of the most profound promises made to those who trust in the Eternal God. The Bible tells us that the Angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear Him, and delivers them. This promise I experienced firsthand whilst I was driving one day. I had just finished working and was going to Whole Foods Market to purchase some food when I was pulled over by a police officer for a broken brake light that I was not aware of. As the officer spoke to me about the infraction, I was praying in my mind that I would not be written up, however, I was issued a ticket anyway. I left there thinking that God knows best, and probably this was a learning curve in my experience.

I paid the ticket and forgot all about the whole incident, but after a few weeks I received a letter from the courts. In that letter was the check I had written and an explanation was given that they could not process the check because the officer had inadvertently put the wrong name on the ticket. I say praise God from whom  all blessings flow. I thought that the prayer had gone unanswered, but God was working quietly behind the scenes to grant my humble request.

The same God is willing and able to do for all of us what he has promised in His word. It may not come in the form of a forgiven ticket, or in the form of deliverance from a robbery, but it will come sooner or later, for God is faithful, who has promised. We therefore end with a text that should encourage us to trust in the mighty promises God has given us to live by. Let's read:

Isaiah 26:3Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

May we always remember to pray and not to faint, for the Eternal God is only a prayer away. God bless!
