A Promise For Guidance. 04/13/2014 (Evening thought)

Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

This passage of scripture promises guidance and direction in all of the affairs of life, to those who put their confidence and trust in God. The Lord is able to guide us with wisdom and discretion because He is able to see the end from the beginning, and that's why in all of the major decisions of life we need to pray for His guidance.

Take for instance marriage, a major decision where no one wants to make a mistake. God is able to find the right person for those who pray and trust in His goodness and wisdom, and He is also able to bring two people together, who may not have known each other previously. Compatibility is often found to be a sensitive issue, and should be addressed up front. However, it is only God who knows how a person will change over a period of time, and therefore it is highly advisable that He be sought before any final decisions are made.

One of the reasons why God is not sought on this important issue is because many people erroneously believe that The Lord is too spiritual to bring a person who has any physical appeal. Nothing can be further from the truth, for God takes delight in both spiritual and physical beauty. Let's read:

Genesis 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

Furthermore, God knows better than we do what we are looking for in a spouse, and by His power he is able to supply all of our needs, by giving to us what we desire according to His perfect will. He has solemnly promised to all who trust Him that our innermost desires will be granted. Let's read:

Psalms 37:4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

We therefore encourage everyone to trust in the Living God who always has our best interest at heart, and if we do, we will never be ashamed. "Good night" and God bless!
