Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
The scriptures should be studied line upon line and precept upon precept, and therefore we must focus on where the Rock that David used, did the damage that took down Goliath. The stone sunk into the forehead of the giant, but according to the above passage, Christ, The Rock was also scheduled to bruise the head of the serpent. Thus, when looked at through the lens of prophecy, it becomes evident that the rock David used prefigured Christ.
In the New Testament it is worthy of note that even Peter acknowledged the fact that the only Rock to have ever existed was Christ. And therefore, we ought to research what Peter says concerning Christ as being the only Rock, the very same Peter, who millions of Christians now worship, and upon whom some have built an entire religion.
Again, in writing to the Hebrews Paul had to remind them that it was The Rock who had guided, shielded and protected them, during their wanderings in the desert. The tendency to focus on mere mortal man, instead of Christ triggers gross misunderstandings, and divergent interpretations of what God is saying to us in His word.
1st Corinthians 10:1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
