Biblical Teaching On Inflation And Famine. Part [14] 07/09/2022 (Morning thought)

Nehemiah 5:3 Some also there were that said, We have mortgaged our lands, vineyards, and houses that we might buy corn because of the dearth. 4 There were also some that said, We have borrowed money for the king's tribute, and that upon our lands and vineyards.

Especially persons who may be cash-strapped, who may find themselves in a position similar to those in the days of Nehemiah, where the people had to rely heavily on credit, adjustments may have to be made in order to weather the deteriorating conditions on the ground for at the end of the day the greenbacks can only stretch so far, and no further.

However, on a more serious note, there is another famine of which the Bible speaks which is scheduled to take an even greater toll on persons, if the word of God isn’t heeded. This particular famine is the one that would produce barrenness in hearing the word of God, for in the days of plenty, when Biblical teaching was available, many did not see the need to avail themselves of the truth.

And as a result, the little that some persons had will evaporate into thin air, when the truth will become quite difficult to find. This is what took place with the five foolish virgins, who found themselves void of the necessary preparation, at the midnight hour.

Amos 8: 11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the Lord. 12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the Lord, and shall not find it.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
