Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain: let all the inhabitants of the land tremble: for the day of the Lord cometh, for it is nigh at hand; 10 The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. 31 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord come.
These events took place more than two hundred years ago, and thus, they can be associated with the early labor pains we spoke of earlier. But we should keep in mind that there are 4 stages of labor pains, so we must of necessity look for any later or current events pointing to the later stages of travail.
Luke mentions the perplexities of nations as one of the signs and no doubt, the world is becoming more and more unstable by the day. The nations of the earth cannot seem to get along anymore, and even though there have been many wars, and upheavals in former years, the very volatile nature of our day calls into question, whether we might have already entered the 2nd or 3rd stage of labor pains.
The perplexities {Plural} of nations, spoken of in the Bible by Luke does not necessarily refer only to wars and rumors of wars, it also refers to difficulties and problems that will occur, with increasing frequency and severity, the answers for which nations would not have.
Luke 21:10 Then said he unto them, Nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: 11 And great earthquakes shall be in divers places, and famines, and pestilences; and fearful sights and great signs shall there be from heaven.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
