1st John 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith.
The path to victory, as it pertains to overcoming phantom temptations, is by the word, and through the indwelling Spirit of God. Those who do not see the necessity of prayer will find out sooner or later that cherished, latent tendencies would eventually place the mind in an iron grip, from which it will be very difficult to escape.
But God has made available to every believer, the power to overcome on a daily basis, if persons will only watch and pray. Having one’s mind stayed on God throughout the day is the equivalent of living in the Spirit, and all who will submit themselves to the instructions given on this point, would not be made the sport of temptations, whether they be internal or external.
We therefore end this presentation with a passage of scripture that calls on us to throw in our two cents, together with God’s 100 %, for it is by cooperating, and laying the framework for an atmosphere that will be favorable to spiritual growth, that we would live victoriously over phantom temptations.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
