Matthew 10:7 And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.
Let us therefore buckle up our shoes, and gird on the full armor of God, that we may be able to live, and still do God’s work, at a time when many are running for cover. God will grant us grace to deal with, and navigate the arising emergencies, but we also must step up to the plate, and learn to endure hardness as good soldiers of the cross.
God never intended that the work of the gospel should be stalled out because of risks, because the very preaching of sacred truth will put us at odds with the popular majority. The faithful of old hazarded their lives for the sake of the kingdom of God, and therefore, we too, who are faced with the threat of multiple variants and diseases, should not be retreating.
Instead, we should be encouraged by the faithfulness of those who have gone before, knowing that the gospel commission must needs be fulfilled before Christ can come the second time. We will end with three passages of scripture which would encourage us to keep the gospel commission at the fore-front of our minds, and God will grant us grace to do exploits for Him at a time when morale is low.
Hebrews 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.
May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
