Acts 10:34 Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons. 35 But in every nation he that fears him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Again, as we study the second prominent feature of righteousness by faith, it’s the will of God that we exercise caution when reading and interpreting the above verses, for they are not remotely suggesting that another form of goodness and righteousness is acceptable in God’s sight, let alone, being able to grant salvation to persons.
Whenever genuine works of righteousness are done they are always the result of The Holy Spirit of God working in the background, without exception. The person in question, may not know it, or may not be able to accurately pinpoint, define, or acknowledge it as such, but it is always God, and God alone in the heart. Absolutely!
The promise to do, and the power to do originates with God, and thus, any correct cooperation on the part of Abraham, or anyone else for that matter, is a direct result of an infusion of supernatural power from God alone. This is a critically important point which must never be lost sight of, for there are times when a person may be tempted to put too much emphasis on their cooperation.
Philippians 2: 12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
