The Omicron Variant. Part [9] 01/07/2022 (Morning thought)

1st Thessalonians 5:2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.

We should never expect that this pandemic will be the last one, and if the current indications hint of more on the horizon, and if we’re facing the prospect of “Novel” stubborn diseases, of long continuance, then we would have to adjust our strategies to meet the urgency of the moment. Like the disciples of old who once faced determined resistance from satanic forces, and who were later informed by Christ that “This Kind” does not come out except by prayer and fasting, just so, we in our day should view the current crises as an urgent call to prayer.

Rather than be forced into a corner where we will have to close the doors of the church, let us gather for prayer in earnest for these are the days of which the holy prophets spoke, and they are scheduled to become more intense and frequent, as a woman is travailing with child.

Therefore, we will end with passages of scripture which reflect the dire urgency of the moment, and we hope that moving forward, we will be enabled to rise to the emerging threats, coming from many directions, as the Bible says they would.

Joel 2:15 Blow the trumpet in Zion, sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly. 17 Let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep between the porch and the altar, and let them say, Spare thy people, O Lord, and give not thine heritage to reproach, that the heathen should rule over them: wherefore should they say among the people, Where is their God?

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
