Matthew 6:31 Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? 32 (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.
The dizziness that accompanies the efforts of persons to acquire more and more material goods is not of God, because the things of eternal value should always take preeminence in our planning, thoughts, and actions, for what shall it profit a man if he should gain the whole world and lose his own soul? To only leave a legacy of material goods as an inheritance for children, constitutes a fearful loss, if the spiritual aspects of life are not addresses and catered for.
Let us therefore make the necessary adjustments to our priorities, wherever warranted, for if we seek to fulfill the call to service in our neck of the woods, God will be able to trust us with means, knowing that the urge to splurge will not be driving us to spend wantonly on things that do not satisfy.
We therefore end with a passage of scripture that will help us in refocusing on the commission given to us by Christ, and all those who will step up to the plate by putting the interests of God’s kingdom first, would be accounted as faithful stewards, and God can be trusted to provide all that is needed.
Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
