Psalms 104:1 Bless the Lord, O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; 2 who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain. 3 Who lays the beams of his chambers in the waters; 5 Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever. 10 He sends the springs into the valleys, which run among the hills. 11 They give drink to every beast of the field: the wild asses quench their thirst.
These passages all bring the question of purpose into sharp focus, for any reasonable person must ask the question: For what purpose was all of this work, this activity, and planning done. If one were to see his or her neighbor buying tons of materials from Home Depot, and many workmen bustling about with their tools, and constructing a host of different things, the question would arise, what is the purpose of all this construction, and what is that neighbor trying to accomplish.
The same is true of all the many things God has created, and His ongoing work of sustaining them from day to day. The question is: what was, and is His ultimate purpose in doing so? As we read the scriptures, they tell us that God has a purpose in forming and maintaining all of the various operations of nature. His plans are well thought out and their ultimate purposes revealed, so that any intelligent being could trace intelligence in all of His works.
On the contrary, evolution has no purpose whatsoever, for as science supposes, man’s origins on this planet start off with an unplanned, unexplained explosion, and things somehow come together by proxy, and then morph into being intelligent. It is both the craziest, and the scariest theory to have ever existed, as the Bible clearly states.
Psalms 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God.
