Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day. 19 The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.
If we become too rigidly tethered to an “it is written” format, then when God is ready to grant us additional information and instructions we may resist it on the basis that it cannot be found anywhere in scripture. This is what took place at the onset of the former rain, and if we do not become tethered to The Person of Christ, we may inadvertently rise up against His voice when He gives us pertinent instructions through His prophets, that may not be readily apparent in His word.
Case in point is the following passage in scripture regarding diets and foods. “1st Timothy 4:4 For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving. 5 For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer”. This passage clearly cuts directly across what God later spoke through His end-time prophet: [Counsels on diets and foods pp 380>381] “Among those who are waiting for the coming of the Lord, meat eating will eventually be done away; flesh will cease to form a part of their diet. We should ever keep this end in view, and endeavor to work steadily toward it”
To the casual observer, the instructions spoken through God’s end time prophet may not square with what is written, and thus, that same question of authority will arise once more: “Should we stick with it is written, or should we follow it is spoken? Remember, God’s instructions to our generation may differ somewhat from those He gave in times past, because we are living at a time when many diseases, and pandemics, and pestilences are scheduled to proliferate across the earth. Thus, we will address Covid and his brothers in the next two segments.
Matthew 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!
