Galatians 5:19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
The passage of scripture above contains a list of all those who will not be granted admission to heaven, and it is given with such clarity, that no one be deceived by the many smooth-talking, false prophets that have now overspread the land, promising eternal life on terms that are not recognized nor sanctioned in the Bible. Now, it is an undeniable fact that every person who has ever lived on the planet has fallen into one or more of the categories listed, and so the Bible must be referring to those who deliberately continue to live in sin, and who for some reason have refused God's gracious overtures through Christ, to save us from our sins.
God did not send Jesus into the world to condemn anyone, but rather to save as many as are willing to be saved. And therefore, all of God's energies and resources are brought to bear in redeeming every willing person, who has chosen Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. But although abundant grace has been provided, yet God does not employ the use of force, for it's only the willing, loving service that can be accepted by Him. Thus, every person is given a free choice of whether to serve and love God, or whether to turn our backs on Him.
And it is because of the latter choice, why the list is given in Galatians, for those who reject Christ's offer of mercy, are thereby placing themselves in permanent bondage to sin, from which it is virtually impossible for any human being to extricate themselves. Let's read:
John 15:4Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
There is a new theology that has recently surfaced, in which some theologians have embraced the idea that faith in God permits a person to indulge in whatsoever they please, with no compunctions of conscience as to violating God's law. Case in point is the current practice by some churches to ordain gays and lesbians as ordained ministers of the gospel, whilst living in open sin. A more egregious affront could not be offered to God, for how can one with a clear conscience, offer themselves to a pure and Holy God, whilst practicing abominable sins, and also encouraging others to do so, when the Bible teaches us the exact opposite? Let's read:
1st Corinthians 6:19What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? 20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
1st Corinthians 6:9Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, 10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.
It is therefore of critical importance that as Christians we be not brain washed by motivational speeches, which present positive thinking as an alternative to faith that works by obedience and love. To put it plainly, God is not going to take any person to heaven who is going to give Him trouble, for this sad experience of sin and iniquity in this world, will never arise a second time. Furthermore, the scriptures teach us that if we willfully continue in sin, after having accepted Christ as our Lord and Savior, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin, but only judgment that will be meted out to the adversaries of God.
We therefore end with a passage of scripture which reiterates this sacred and solemn truth, and it is the will of God, that from this point forward, we may seek daily, to be conformed to His divine image, for the promise of immortality in the new earth is not given to evil doers, but to the righteous only, who shall inherit the earth. Let's read:
Revelation 22:14Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
