Genesis 18:20 And the Lord said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; 21 I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know.
This passage of scripture teaches us of the gravity of the sins committed by the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah, and just as if we have not learned the lessons of the past, we too as a nation have followed in their footsteps with the passing of the law of same-sex marriage in all fifty states. Ironically, political leaders and gay rights activists were not the only ones who were celebrating yesterday, because satan and his demons were also cheering on, knowing that they worked so hard and relentlessly through human agencies to legalize iniquity in high and low places.
What is even more tragic about that fatal decision handed down by the courts on the 26th of June 2015, is that even though most people do not realize it as yet, millions of evil spirits were let loose across the globe, and in the very near future, the celebrations of joy will give way to tears of grief and sorrow, as the world's most wanted murderer shows up to get paid for his work in the most brutal form. Let's read:
Matthew 12:43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.
Satan works through the elements also to garner his harvest of unprepared souls. He has studied the secrets of the laboratories of nature, and he uses all his power to control the elements as far as God allows. Even now he is at work. In accidents and calamities by sea and by land, in great conflagrations, in fierce tornadoes and terrific hailstorms, in tempests, floods, cyclones, tidal waves, and earthquakes, in every place and in a thousand forms, Satan is exercising his power. He sweeps away the ripening harvest, and famine and distress follow. He imparts to the air a deadly taint, and thousands perish by the pestilence. G.C pp 589,590.
The theology which teaches its adherents that there are no negative consequences for doing evil is not based on scripture, and whatever the rejoicing may presently be, let us know for certain that no nation or individual violates the law of God and gets off scotch free. The power of satan is exercised greatly over those who have deliberately turned their backs on the truth, and thus we will see with our own two eyes, the disintegration of society by this singular act of the courts, which is now supported by the majority of the people.
In the days of Christ, there was a man possessed by evil spirits whose dwelling was in the mountains and in the tombs, and being controlled by demons from within, he cut himself daily with sharp stones, and his demeanor was so fierce that no one could safely pass that way. But when he saw Jesus, he attempted to ask for help, but was prevented from doing so by the satanic forces within, and so Jesus confronted the evil spirits and demanded of them their name. In response they said that they were called "legion", meaning that several thousands of them had now taken up residence in a single person.
When the devils realized that Christ was going to evict them, they literally begged Him not to send them out of the country into never land, but they instead sought permission to enter into a herd of swine that was feeding nearby. The reason for this legal request on their part is that the raising of swine for human consumption was strictly forbidden by God, and therefore the power of satan could then be legally exercised at the point of disobedience. What took place next in that episode is a faint view of what will befall many across the land, as the same evil spirits seek for revenge at the point of our national disobedience. Let's read:
Mark 5:9 And he asked him, What is thy name? And he answered, saying, My name is Legion: for we are many. 12 And all the devils besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them. 13 And forthwith Jesus gave them leave. And the unclean spirits went out, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the sea, (they were about two thousand;) and were choked in the sea. 14 And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country".
The word of God plainly states that the result of rebellion and high handed sin is death, and even though the judgments written may be delayed for days, or even weeks and years, yet the sure results of a wrong course of action will be seen and felt by all those who partake of the same spirit, for there will be no distinction made between the perpetrators of iniquity, and those who actively or passively support it. The reason for this is that The God of heaven will not intervene to stop the laws of cause and effect from running their natural course, and even though the nation will cry unto Him for deliverance when the calamities begin, yet He will not hear, nor answer, nor deliver, because this is also a promise in the Bible that we should take note of. Let's read:
Proverbs 1:24 Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25 But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26 I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; 27 When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. 28 Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: 29 For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the Lord: 30 They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. 31 Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.
Let us therefore be certain to live in harmony with the truths we know, and let us as Christians always stand firm upon the word of God, for The Lord will only cover those who are obedient to His revealed will, and His laws and sacred institutions will be as a shield around those who delight in His law. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which reminds us of the solemn truth of sowing and reaping, of cause and effect, and let us therefore use the few remaining moments of time to spread the everlasting gospel to those who don't know better. Let's read:
Galatians 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
May God add His blessing to the study and practice of His word. "Good night" and God bless!
