The Potent Spiritual Laws. 09/04/2014 (Morning thought)

Psalms 19:7 The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. 8 The statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes. 9 The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.

This passage of scripture makes direct reference to the law of ten commandments which God has given us to govern our relationship with Him, and our interaction with our fellowmen. As stated in the passage above, these laws are not only true and perfect, but they also play a critical role in the conversion process, in which our old natures are transformed by the Holy Spirit, and we subsequently become partakers of the divine nature, as clearly stated by the apostle Peter. Let's read:

2nd Peter 1:4  Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

However, there are actually two sets of laws which govern our planet, the spiritual laws spoken of above, and the natural laws which pertain to the physical aspect of our being, but of the two, the spiritual law is the much more formidable, having the natural law being subservient to it. This sacred truth is not properly understood as it should be, hence the reason why we often wander in the mazes of science and philosophy, searching for answers to otherwise unexplainable problems and phenomena.

For instance the prophet Jonah was once given a specific command from God to go preach to the city of Nineveh, but instead he took a detour to Tarshish, hoping to avoid the work of evangelism so desperately needed in that city. Jonah's disobedience consequently triggered a violent storm which threatened not only his life, but also put the lives of the sailors in jeapardy. In their utter failure to stabilize the ship they at last questioned Jonah as to what course of action they should pursue, after they had learned from him that he had disobeyed God. The prophet then suggested the unthinkable, which caused the sailors to recoil in horror. Let's read:

Jonah 1:11 Then said they unto him, What shall we do unto thee, that the sea may be calm unto us? for the sea wrought, and was tempestuous. 12 And he said unto them, Take me up, and cast me forth into the sea; so shall the sea be calm unto you: for I know that for my sake this great tempest is upon you.15 So they took up Jonah, and cast him forth into the sea: and the sea ceased from her raging.

Similarly, with a violation of the seventh commandment in all of its various forms and hues; the Bible explicitly states that sexual immorality of all sorts affects the land and the weather, and thus a stern warning is issued to the inhabitants of this earth, that a continual violation of these and other potent spiritual laws will inevitably result in untold destruction, for the one affects the other, the spiritual law being much more formidable. Let's read:

Leviticus 18:20 Moreover thou shalt not lie carnally with thy neighbour's wife, to defile thyself with her. 22 Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. 23 Neither shalt thou lie with any beast to defile thyself therewith: neither shall any woman stand before a beast to lie down thereto: it is confusion. 24 Defile not ye yourselves in any of these things: for in all these the nations are defiled which I cast out before you: 25 And the land is defiled: therefore I do visit the iniquity thereof upon it, and the land itself vomiteth out her inhabitants.

With the advent of gross sexual immorality on an unprecedented scale, there will also be a significant upsurge in the trouble and perplexities across the entire globe, for the word of God will be fulfilled in due season, whether we believe it or not. Science seeks in vain to separate the potent spiritual law from the natural law, but in so doing we are also closing the door to the remedies and answers provided in the scriptures, and as a result we are currently witnessing a steady decline in morality, compassion, and righteousness, and instead we are seeing an uptick in vice, crime and brutality too horrible to mention.

In our own lives, we should make certain not to consciously violate any known spiritual laws, so that we be not found contributing to an already volatile and deteriorating situation. We therefore end with a passage of scripture which encourages us to choose good over evil, obedience instead of rebellion, and ultimately God over satan, for all of the evils that are rapidly developing in modern society are just a culmination of the long-standing war against truth and righteousness. We thus encourage every one to choose Christ, so that we may be found living in harmony with the potent spiritual laws. Let's read:

Psalms 1:1  Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. 2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3 And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. 4 The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. 5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. 6 For the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

May God add His blessing to the study and doing of His every word. God bless!
