A Just and Merciful God. Part [18] 03/29/2025 (Morning thought)

John 14:29 And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, you might believe. 30 Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

[The Great Controversy pp 622] Now, while our great High Priest is making the atonement for us, we should seek to become perfect in Christ. Not even by a thought could our Savior be brought to yield to the power of temptation. Christ declared of himself, “The prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” [John 14:30.] Satan could find nothing in the Son of God that would enable him to gain the victory.

He had kept his Father's commandments, and there was no sin in him that Satan could use to his advantage. This is the condition in which those must be found who shall stand in the time of trouble. In closing, the Bible teaches us that there are very difficult days ahead, the likes of which persons have never seen, and therefore, the Christian will have to get his/her act together, by surrendering to the Lord in everything.

If persons were to wait until prime to get ready they will absolutely be shaken down from their perch, for the Christian would be tempted as if he/she was the only one living on planet earth. It behooves us then to study the life and character of Christ, as He was put through the wringer in all types of situations.

Luke 12:39 And this know, that if the goodman of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broken through. 40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

May The Lord add His blessing to the study of His word. God bless!

A Just and Merciful God. Part [17] 03/29/2025 (Evening thought)

Psalms 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaks the truth in his heart.

[4] Being truthful in difficult or dangerous situations. There is one more lesson for to take away from the study, but this time it comes from the experience of Rahab, who told a series of lies, in order to hide the spies. The Christian should not adopt evil ways and means in order to accomplish good. The end does not always justify the means in every situation with the Christian.

And therefore, if Rahab were alive in our day, and the authorities came knocking on her door asking her of the whereabouts of persons, as is the case with many currently, Rahab must tell them the truth, and trust God to mitigate the fallout. The principles and laws of God’s kingdom do not change with time or circumstance, and therefore, the Christian Rahab in our day will have to become accustomed to speaking the truth in all situations, even when it may be risky to herself and others to do so.

In other words, if the wanted persons are hiding in her apartment among the stalks of flax, Rahab must say so, and not resort to telling stories, or white lies to avoid danger. This could be very tough, given the current situation, but it is what will be required as we prepare for the big one.

Ephesians 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ.

May God add His blessing to the study of His word. “Good night” and God bless!
